How to style wide leg palazzo pants 5 ways

Have you seen these new types of pants called wide leg palazzo pants? I am in love. Today I am going to show you how to style my wide leg polka dot palazzo pants 5 ways! These sheer lined flowy loose fitting pants keep you cool and look amazing on! The tie in front is one of my favorite details of these pants. These trousers make me feel like I am in France or Italy!

I cannot wait to wear these comfortable wide leg pants in Italy when we visit our Italian Palazzo in June. We have been renovating the palazzo. You can read about our Italian adventure here. I will have someone take a fun photo of me in my palazzo pants in front of our Palazzo Ricci 😉

Style wide leg palazzo pants with a cardigan

The first style I am showing you is with a simple black cardigan sweater. It kind of reminds me of a Audrey Hepburn look. Classic and casual.

The cardigan is always a favorite style. Cardigans always look so nice with wide leg pants. I think because the sweater is more form fitting while the pant leg is full.

I love wearing cardigans. You see another cardigan outfit here.

Plus the sweater is not bulky which is also great for my wide shoulders.

I really like the detail of the gold buttons which draws the eye down instead of across. My sling back black flats perfectly compliment the outfit.

The pointy toe also makes legs look longer #win

Casual Linen blouse with Palazzo pants

Who loves linen raise your hand! I Do I Do!

Linen lover for many years that’s me! Even when it is wrinkled.

I found this gorgeous green linen blouse at JJIll but no longer available. I found one that looks almost identical.

Linen is lightweight and breathable which is so great in hot weather. It just makes you feel like you are on vacation when you wear it.

I tied the blouse at my waist. Or should say my non waist… over my basic white t-shirt for a fun casual resort look. Simply tucking in the ties of the pants alleviated too much tying going on.

The wedge sandals are so comfortable. I am able to walk all around Italy in them which is huge for me! I bought them a couple of years ago at TJMaxx.

Adding a simple straw cross body purse and straw hat completes the look.

Oh and these natural jute type earrings are so much fun to wear! These are very similar to the ones I am wearing.

Jean jacket and white t-shirt with wide leg pants

What would we do without the hardworking denim jacket in our wardrobes?

Seriously this jacket gets worked! Am I right? It goes with everything doesn’t it?

I wear mine with jeans, white pants, skirts, dresses and now wide leg palazzo pants!

I really really love this look. The flowy wide leg pants are kind of elegant. Yet the combination of elegance mixed with denim works so well.

White adidas sneakers, straw hat and straw bag and bam! Cute, comfy, chic and casual!

Style palazzo pants with Peach cropped linen jacket

I went to TJMaxx the other day. That is where I found these wide leg palazzo pants. Even the girl at the check out counter was like…”wow these are so cute”!

Not only did I find the pants but I also found this adorable peach linen jacket.

Everything about this little cropped jacket is just so dang cute! The peter pan collar, the wooden buttons, piping all down the the front, on the cuffs and pockets.

I pulled out my orange/peach colored sandals to wear with it.

Here are some similar Orange sandals

Do you like it? Is it too much?

Trying to get my hubby to snap a few pictures is always interesting. haha!

He doesn’t say ok I am taking pictures now he just starts taking pictures while I am talking to him.

Oh gosh I have some lovely pics that I will not be sharing. HAHAHA.

I tried to find links to these items at TJMaxx for all of you. Of course they are not to be found. I did find similar items that you can shop below

Dressing up my Polka Dotted Palazzo pants

The really fabulous thing about Palazzo pants is that they can be styled so many ways. Everything from work attire, date night, casual and even dressy.

By adding my long black double breasted jacket and a creamy lace top, it changed the look completely.

What is it about pointy toed shoes that always make me feel a little bit dressier?

These Anne Klein shoes are so comfortable and I have had so many of you compliment me in them 🙂

I love love love the fact that they are not super high heeled. I just can’t wear super high heels any more.

Ann Klein indeed pump

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!

  • Hi, Karin - You look good in all these outfits. Very tasteful. Those shoes with the kitten heel definitely look wonderful. I have some similar to those that are from Mootsies Tootsies. I've had them for ages and love them. Thanks for sharing all these looks - Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

  • I struggle with wide legged trousers, so these ideas are amazing. I really like the pink jacket, what a find! I don't know how many photos you reject, but I think that your husband has done a fine job. Well done to you both.

    • You are so sweet! I will tell him that he did a good job :) The pink jacket is so fun to wear in spring. I love finding lightweight jackets that can take me through spring and summer. They are the best things! Thanks so much for taking time to leave me a comment I really appreciate it!

      Hugs,
      Karin

  • Found your post on Upstyle and just signed up for emails. I absolutely love the palazzo pants and all things linen. Living in the South---near Atlanta---I wear linen year-round. I have several pairs of linen palazzo pants in solids and stripes---not sure I'm brave enough for polka dots. 😄 I have 2 favorite looks from your gallery---the green shirt (looks chartreuse on my screen and it matches your armchair) and the peach jacket. I am long legged and tend to wear flowy, loose-fitting clothes, so both of these styles are my normal go-to. But, I do also like the jean jacket and will have to pull mine out of the coat closet.

    • Hi Tina! Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I totally agree with you on loving linen palazzo pants. You can wear polka dots give them a chance. They are just so fun especially with the jean jacket. Thank you for signing up for my email too! So fun to meet another fan of the Palazzo pants!

      Hugs,
      Karin

    • Thank you so much Michelle they are so fun to wear!
Thank you for your sweet compliment.

  • Great fashion ideas. I have a pair of these and love them.
    Blessings to you and yours!

    • Mireille thank you so much for your sweet compliments. I too love the color of green linen blouse… it’s just so fresh and crisp looking. I’m a big fan of the palazzo pants.. hope you didn’t give yours away!

  • I’m here for palazzo pants and linen - being from Australia this is very much what is worn because the climate is nice and temperate in most places across the country. Your Italian adventure does sound seriously exciting and I’m going to pop over there and check it out.
Thank you for sharing the various outfits, love those cute black heels!

    • Donna, I bet Palazzo pants are perfect in Australia especially with the heat. I have a nephew serving a church mission in Perth. Right now. He said it’s been pretty hot there. Thank you for your sweet compliments about my outfit. You made my day!

      Karin

  • These are all so cute! I have one pair of palazzo pants but I tend to wear them with a fitted t-shirt most often. love the polka dots on yours; that really adds to the style. Mine are just plain black and with a plain shirt it can get a bit boring feeling.

    • Thank you so much Joanne! I do have a t-shirt on under my green linen blouse but I like the flowiness of the blouse over it or a jacket to camouflage my muffin top haha ;) I think I would love a pair of just plain black ones too..they are so versatile aren't they! Thanks for stopping by!

      Hugs,
      Karin

  • I love your palazzo pants, Karin - I have a pair that are very similar (smaller polka dots)! They are so comfortable, it's like wearing your pj's1

    • Ann… they seriously are like wearing PJ’s with flair! 😃 I didn’t think I would like them but I was surprised by how much I really love them! Thank you for coming to the party!

      Hugs,
      Karin

  • All the looks are so adorable. I'm short so I can't wear the "super wide and flowy" pants, but need a straighter silhouette. Love the polka dots and green linen shirt. Husbands... gotta love 'em! Thanks for the ideas!

    • Hi Debra,
Everything I have read about the palazzo pants is that even short women can pull off the look. You should try it!

      Hugs,
      Karin
