Flaky buttery crust super easy quick fresh pear tart that you will love! Perfect for a fall dessert that your whole family will enjoy
Our pear tree was bountiful this year! So many crisp delicious pears to eat right off the tree. I found an easy quick fresh pear tart recipe. One of the keys of any tart is a flaky buttery crust and this one is sooo good! I found the original recipe on Little House Living but I added a few secret ingredient that I will share at the end.
To make this scrumptious pear tart you need pears of course. I actually do not know what kind of pears grow on our tree but they are a purple red color and sweet. I think you could really use any kind of pears for this tart. Actually you could eve use apples but I would add more cinnamon and maybe some caramel swirls on top! oooh that sounds so good doesn’t it? That would be similar to Ina Garten’s Apple Crostada recipe which is absolutely divine! You could serve this dessert on an outdoor fall dinner tablescape like this one.
When I make any kind of crust I love to use my cuisinart food processor because it is so fast and easy to use. The crust for this pear tart is buttery and easy to use. I don’t know that I would call this a fancy French pear tart or a rustic pear tart but it is a delicious easy pear tart with a scrumptious crust.
Here are a few other yummy recipes involving a crust that I have make in my food processor. You can click here for my Zucchini Lemon Ricotta Galette or this amazing Tomato Ricotta basil tart or my Mini Peach Raspberry pies. Each crust recipe is slightly different but all yummy! Add dry ingredients to the cuisinart work bowl- Flour, sugar and salt. Pulse a few times to combine. Then add the ice water and the egg yolk. Pulse until combined.
You can tell when the dough is ready by pinching a little bit between your fingers and if it holds together it is ready to be pressed into tart pan.
A removable tart pan is absolute must in my kitchen. In order to get the tart out to see the pretty edge you need a removable bottom. I have used this type of tart pan for many years. I like to have them in different sizes too.
Once you have made your crust, you can then press the dough into the tart pan. Make sure to press it into the crevices and up the side so you have end up with a nice edge. Which do you like better a tart, pie or cake? I made this AMAZING layered raspberry lemon cake with cream cheese frosting for mine and my hubby’s romantic outdoor dinner that he said “This is the best cake you have ever made”!
Using your fingers spread the tart dough evenly by feeling it with your hands. Refrigerate your tart until you have sliced your pears.
Once you have washed and sliced up all your pears (peeling is optional) you are ready to place them into pie pan. I just love to bake in fall don’t you? I hosted an outdoor garden dinner party for 20 people (when there was no COVID) and I made everyone mini Blueberry Crisps. It was such a fun evening and everyone loved it. I miss doing those!
Place them in there so that it looks pretty 🙂
Finally sprinkle the entire tart with the sugar butter topping and drizzle with the cream.
Place in the oven. Bake 400 degrees for approx 30-35 minutes until the pear tart is bubbly and golden.
Enjoy a slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
