This year I decked out my Fall porch with two pumpkin topiaries and some corns stalks!
I have my pumpkin topiaries flagging each side of our front door with four bundles of corn stalks tied around the columns and a few other pumpkins going down the front steps.
Today I am sharing my tips for creating this fall porch.
I bought the corn stalks at a local farm just down the street. When I first tied the cornstalks to the columns with some string, I covered the string with some rather skinny orange ribbon.
It just wasn’t looking bold enough so I found a large piece of orange burlap in my fabric stash. Cutting long strips and tying them around the corn stalk bundles made a much bolder statement
If you love corn stalks you will love this super easy corn husk wreath tutorial I made!
I really like how they framed the front porch by tying the corn stalks around each one of the 4 columns.
One year for my fall front porch, I only bought two bundles of corn stalks and used faux fall leaf garlands around the front door. Then I decorated an old sewing machine cabinet sitting on my porch with a big basket of fall leaves and pumpkins. See my easy fall porch post here.
Plus added in pots of mums for color and of course had a few simple pumpkin topiaries by the front door too.
Another year for Halloween, I used witch hats hanging from the porch ceiling, corn stalks and of course two pumpkin topiaries.
It really turned out so amazing!
You can see my How to create a Halloween porch post here.
This is so incredibly easy how to make a pumpkin topiary! Simply cut off the stems of two larger pumpkins slightly different in size and placed them in urns. Use a smaller pumpkin with a stem for the top.
The weight of the pumpkins keeps them in place.
I’ve had these plastic black urns for years now. They are perfect to use every year!
You can see these same urns with pumpkins in them when we lived in Texas sitting on my porch.
Below I used grapevine wreaths to sit around on the edge of the urns with pumpkins on top.
Simple and fast!
What is a fall porch without a pretty wreath? I made this many years ago using faux fall leaf garland and some paper mache gourds and pumpkins.
I did a wreath redo on this wreath about 5 years or so ago by adding more garland and changing the ribbon. Every time I get out the wreath I love it even more!
UPDATE- I recycled the wreath again only this time I show you how to make a fall hydrangea and pumpkin wreath. It looks amazing on my new white front door!
This 15 year old wreath keeps getting better!
I hope you enjoyed this Fall porch with corn stalks and pumpkin topiaries and that it gave you some ideas on how to decorate your porch.
