Memorial Day BBQ Decorations
Memorial Day is seriously one of my favorite times of the year to deck out my table.
Inexpensive and eye catching is always my main goal.
I splurged a little this year and bought these adorable paper plates with ruffled edges! I am dying at how cute they are and there are many colors to choose from.
The come is lots of different sizes…chargers, dinner size, salad, 2 different bowl sizes and napkins to match!
These cloth napkins are made from drop cloths!
My mom made these for me years ago and they hold to up to everything!
I am thinking of selling these on my blog…anyone interested in buying some?
They would be handmade by my mom and I.
Leave me a comment below and let me know if you would be interested.
I have styled this Memorial Day BBQ tablescape in two different ways.
In both I have used the same navy and white striped fabric.
One way as runner on one table and on the other I created a puddle of fabric in the center.
Striped paper napkins on one table and napkins made from drop cloths with numbers on them on the other.
Pockets from the backs of old jeans make the perfect keepsake for a box of sparklers.
A small American flag is also tucked in for each guest.
If you are interested in ordering some from me, please leave me a comment or email me.
Red white and blue Centerpiece
Cutting flowers from your yard is what I love to use the most in my centerpieces.
I have used white snowball flowers in a tall white vase that I have used many many times.
Below the white vase is in the center of the striped fabric.
For this tablescape I set the white vase upon a red Christmas cake stand! No one will every know 😉
Simply adding one flag into the vase of white flowers you have an instant Memorial Day centerpiece.
Basically FREE if you can cut flowers from your yard.
Easy Memorial Day BBQ Food
We love to grill because it is fast and easy and always turns out great.
Our favorite go to for the kids is of course the basic hot dog.
For the adults we love to grill anything and everything from fish and Chicken to vegetables and fruit.
Sweet Baby Rae is our favorite BBQ Sauce mixed with Webers Beer Can Chicken seasoning and it is a winner!
I use that seasoning on everything including vegetables! A little olive oil, salt and beer can seasoning the BBQ is done and done!
Arranging fruit is a very simple way to look like you have spend a lot of time preparing something amazing.
Using a tiered serving stand and layering in all kinds of berries and grapes makes for a stunning display.
You may remember we did this at our fun lake party.
Memorial Day BBQ Dessert
How can you go wrong with this Red White and Blue show stopper dessert?
Layered lemon cake with fresh whipped cream topped with strawberries screams summer!
Here Is the easy recipe for this yummy dessert.

Love everything about this post! Those pretzel rods are amazing!!!
Hi! Karin, you are an inspiration! I’ve learned that decorations sometimes is for me to have fun! I have family that seems to not notice extra effort to add “atmosphere” to a gathering. It makes me happy though!!
I would be interested in your moms drop cloth napkins. Probably eight total. I can do the stenciling once I decide what!😂
Thanks for all your enthusiasm, humor and wonderful ideas!
Nancy
Thank you so much Nancy for your sweet comments. I am totally with you on creating a fun and pretty atmosphere for a party. Whether or not the family notices…which in reality I think they do and it just wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t. I bet your family does notice too but maybe they just don’t realize it.
I will have you email my mom at tallpines61@hotmail.com for pricing on her napkins.
Thanks again,
Karin

Love your tablescape with it’s perfect combination of red, white and blue. I also love the idea of serving fruit in the tiered tray. So cute! Thanks for linking up with Tuesday Turn About!
Hi Michelle,
Thank you! I love Red White and blue! It’s just so refreshing and always reminds me of growing up in California for some reason. Putting fruit in a tiered stand just makes the beautiful colors shine and makes your mouth drool doesn’t it? I find when I serve fruit like that… there is never a morsel left 😂
