Weekly Linky Party Centerpiece Wednesday!

Welcome to Karins Kottage Weekly Linky Party Centerpiece Wednesday! This is a place where you can come to get inspired!

Bloggers from all over join in this party each week to share things they have been working on!

I love to see the creativity shared each week!

Karins Kottage Happenings

I have been trying something new and little scary. I am sharing Fashion Friday ideas and tips!

It is always kind of nerve wracking to put yourself out on the web like this but I hope it can be helpful to other women my age and with my fashion issues of having a short waist, broad shoulders and a short neck.

This past week I shared how to style Tartan plaid pants after the holidays! This Friday I am sharing a jewel toned winter outfit so come on back on Friday to check it out!

I try to camouflage my square upper body issues as best as I can. So I decided to share my fashion tips with all of you every Friday!

The other fun thing I have been up to is hosting family birthday parties! This French themed birthday party for my granddaughter turned out so cute! I am also sharing a quick and easy Ratatouille that you will LOVE!

It brought back memories of doing a French themed party for my mom for her 75th birthday.

Highlights from weekly Linky party Centerpiece Wednesday

Every year I tell myself that I am going to make some cute aged looking terra cotta pots and it never happens!

This is the year! Look at this adorable pot from Virgina Sweet Pea.

She uses chalk paint to age the pots and tissue paper to print the image.

Brilliant!

Pillar box blue is so dang creative! I love all her ideas and this one is stunning.

Creating this wreath from scraps of yarn and fabric! I have lots of yarn up in my craft room just waiting for a fun project like this!

How sweet is this mini antique basket filled with spring goodness! Common Ground shares this idea on her blog.

I would love to find some mini antique baskets like this! She filled them with real and faux plants and flowers.

I love it!

How incredibly smart is this idea! These are dollar store mirrors that are plastic and Sarah says ugly. Sarah from Salmonde transforms these “ugly” mirrors into Farmhouse cute!

Chalk paint and wax brought new life to these mirrors!

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!

  • Hi Karen, I'm running really late this week! Thanks so much for sharing my little antique baskets for spring. It was fun putting them together to get spring rolling in. I love seeing what everyone wears, and you look great! I have my issues as most of us do. I'm short, and it's not always easy to find trendy styles in petites. Thanks for the great ideas, I'll be cheering you on each Friday! Thanks for hosting!

  • Thanks for another fun party Karin. I love, Love, LOVE the outfit. and jewelry too. 🤩 I know we are all uber aware of our on physical shortcomings but I do NOT see any of the issues you explain. Really. Looking forward to seeing your fashion post. XO- MaryJo

    • MaryJo! You are so sweet! Wow! You totally made my day! It’s so nice to see so many ladies here liking my style. We all want to look our best and we all have fashion issues. I hope I can be someone who can help with creative ideas.
Thanks so much for taking time to leave me a comment. I REALLY appreciated it!

      Hugs,
      Karin

    • Rachelle! You can relate! Being short waisted is a little tricky isn’t it! There are just some things we cannot wear don’t you agree?

Thanks so much for stopping in. I will post another outfit on Friday.

      Hugs,
      Karin

  • This is what I featured the week of 2-13 to 2-15-2021. On Tuesday was White Bean Chicken Chili. Wednesday was Loaded Baked Potato Soup. Friday was Black Bean Soup. Enjoy!

  • Thank you so much for featuring my spring yarn wreath. I love your tartan trousers, I used to have a pair like that in the 80's and I loved them.

  • So many fun links to dive into this week, Karin! I love all the features you chose and I'm pinning your plaid pants and outfit inspiration immediately. You look so good! Thanks so much for hosting. I hope your week is a special one, CoCo

    • CoCo you are so sweet! I really appreciate your kind comments! It is always nerve wracking to do a fashion post but with comments like yours it gives me some confidence to share more! Thank you my friend!
