Tablescapes

Happy 4th of July Denim Tablescape!

Happy 4th of July everyone!
Hope you have a happy 4th of July and enjoy my denim tablescape that highlights the Red, White and Blue! I love using recycled denim jeans in my Tablescapes. You might remember this one where I used the waistband of some jeans in a fun new way

Setting the Denim Tablescape

I used my red chargers with white plates that have black writing on them. It is so fun to create something new out of recycled jeans like these silverware holders made from jean pockets. I laid the denim pockets filled silverware on the plate with a white napkin cinched with a blue berry napkin ring. I love the red white and blue look.
Isn’t this adorable and fun. By cutting the waistband off a pair of old jeans and wrapping it on the edge of a cake stand, you would never know that this is my Red Christmas cake plate. The denim waistband wrapped around the edges gives it a whole new look!
These tin votive candle holders with punched stars will be holding different BBQ sauces. Elevating them on a cake stand make them shine and easy to get to.
The red plastic hot dog baskets were from the dollar store along with the red and white checked paper napkins. Below you can see the entire Happy 4th of July denim tablescape

Denim Chair Sashes

I made these denim chair sashes by cutting the legs out of jeans and placing them over each chair tied with ribbons and faux flowers. These Sashes would be adorable for a wedding reception or wedding luncheon…adding whatever color flower and ribbon to them to fit the theme.

Centerpiece Idea

Here is my quick and easy centerpiece…I used a large tin bucket and filled it with red white and blue faux flowers and stuck in some large American flags for drama! Easy peasy! Here is another favorite easy red white and blue mason jar centerpiece to make.
I created a new napkin ring….using denim flower background that cut out of jeans and hot glueing a red flower to it. A fun way to attach these denim flower will be to use ribbon and wrap them around napkins.
I love the way it looks!
It adds a fun look sitting next to the denim silverware pockets don’t you think?

Denim runners

My runners are made from denim jeans.
They would look great for a country or western party or wedding! Super cheap and easy to make! Remember my elegant country Ralph Lauren meets Audrey Hepburn tablescape here?
Happy 4th everyone!
I hope you all enjoy this holiday and stay safe and sound!

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!

  • Holy Moly, Karin....the cake stand band and the chair sashes are just too cute for words!!! What a great idea! My pants are so big they could wrap around a beer barrel, but that's a whole other story! :-) Along with the denim pockets for the flatware and the napkins, this is just blue jean heaven! It looks really, really cool with the red & white. I hope you had a slam dunk 4th!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
