I found the inspiration for this 4th of July Red Tricycle Centerpiece and tablescape in a Book called Celebrating Home.
After finding this idea years ago I always wanted to try and recreate it using a tricycle for my 4th of July centerpiece but never had access to one until my grandkids came around.
I am in love with it!
Grab your child’s tricycle and clean it up really good before you put it on the table 🙂 Go through your stash of fabric, scarves, tablecloths etc. to find something in the red white and blue look. I found this red tan and cream striped fabric and gathered it up in the center of the table for texture. Placing the tricycle in the center of table on top of the fabric immediately set the tone of fun! I just love how cute it looks underneath my chandelier!
I had two fairly large large American flags on wooden sticks that I slipped through the pedals to hold them up. Using left over red ribbon I had laying around, I tied it around the base of the white pedestal bowl. The small bouquet of blue and white flowers are not real but look so cute sitting on the seat of the red tricycle.
This tricycle has a little trunk in the back so I loaded it up with old root beer bottles that have colored napkin rings around them to tell who is who’s! I am thinking I will fill them with lemonade or a fruity drink for fun! Adding in little blue straws makes them look extra special. Who would know they are old root beer bottles!
I folded scrapbook paper into a cone shape and taped them close to hold popcorn for the kids! You could also serve French fries, candy or any other fun snack food in them. They are great because little hands can hold them perfectly. You could also try making these cute old fashioned snack bags from Lia Griffith that I made. The tutorial is Here
For napkins I pulled my white napkins through my beaded red, white and blue napkin rings and placed them in a large red basket for easy grab and go.Â
Aren’t these silver metal votive candle holders darling? I placed them in tiny red and white striped bowls and I am planning on using them to hold mini muffins or mini cupcakes in them! If is so fun figuring out ways to use things in many different ways rather than just what they were meant for.
I love this red and white silverware…I bought it at Pottery Barn years ago on sale.
The silverware is huge and really makes a statement! I will link to some similar looking ones below in my Shop This Post section.
The tablecloth is fabric from Ikea! No sewing just crumpled all around to look fun!
I turned on the chandelier to take the pic and loved how the light shines down on my 4th of July red white and blue tricycle centerpiece.
Hope this 4th of July red white and blue tricycle tablescape gives you some fun ideas to try for your 4th of July party or any other patriotic holiday party you will be having.Â

This is super cute! You are very creative and what a fun table to make memories around! Blessings all over your week end!
This is a super great centerpiece!!! Love it! I don't know that I have the strength to hoist a tricycle anymore, but it would be worth the pain to give it a try!!! This is terrific! Perfect for the 4th of July!!!!!!!
Now this is just the cutest thing ever!!! Last year I bought a red tricycle at a yard sale for my littlest grand-daughter to ride when she visits. They are coming next week and will be here for 4th of July. Do you think she would mind if I use it as a table centerpiece instead of a ride toy for her? LOL......Thank you for the fabulous inspiration today. xo
Very cute! I have the older model of the trike and wagon and use it often on the buffet table.
Thanks for linking up and back to LET'S DISH, Wednesday at 7!
If this isn't the most darling centerpiece I've seen. I love your special touches, the drinks in the trunk, the flags in the wheel, the great flatware.. oh it's just splendid.. xo marlis
