Karins Kottage Linky Party

Summer to Fall Decor and Centerpiece Wednesday

It is that time of year again where we are moving from Summer to Fall with our decorations, cooking and planning. I love this time of year because it is like a renewal don’t you think? Making plans for the upcoming holidays is always a treat for me. I hope you find some inspiring ideas, crafts, and recipes each week on Centerpiece Wednesday. Let me know what things have inspired you by leaving me a quick comment.

Highlights From Last Weeks Centerpiece Wednesday

I am all about fast and easy pretty fall craft projects! When I saw these two bloggers share easy wreaths I knew I had to share their ideas with you! First is Gorgeous Fall Wreath in Fifteen Minutes – Quick Tutorial So pretty and easy by My Wee Abode

Next is another fast and easy Fall Hoop Wreath from Virginia Sweet Pea. I love the idea of using a thrifted quilting hoop and adding in fall leaves and flowers! So quick and easy too!

Over at The Crowned Goat she is sharing awesome 17 Ways to Ease into Fall! I loved reading all her ideas because it really got me thinking about all the fun things to do in the fall. Like planning an apple picking date with the grandkids or going up to the mountains to see the fall leaves as well as making a few decor changes too!

I also really loved this fabulous no sew Farmhouse curtain made from drop cloths! I need to make some new curtains in my master bedroom and this really inspired me. Now I just need to put it in my calendar to make it happen! Thank you Kippi At Home for inspiring me to get this done!

Post you may have missed

It’s Punkin making time! I show 2 different ways on how to make velvet pumpkins one is a NO SEW!

I created a pretty outdoor fall tablescape using flowers from my backyard in mason jars and old books with pages folded in to different shapes for the centerpiece.

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!

  • Hi Karin - love your features this week, and love all the great ideas for fall decorating! I'm easing in as well, adding peaches to the pinks now, and moving toward adding rusts to the peaches! :) I'm so inspired with all the posts - thanks so much for hosting!

  • Thank you so much for featuring our simple ways to ease into Fall, Karin! It's still in the high 90s in Florida but now that school is back in session I know apple cider and hayrides are just around the corner. I hope you and your family are all safe and well. Hugs and thank you for hosting, CoCo

  • Thank you for hosting! This is what I featured the week of 8-23 to 8-27 on my blog. On Tuesday was a Healthy Pumpkin Smoothie. Wednesday was a Monte Cristo Croissant Sandwich. Thursday was Rolo Brownies. And winding up this week of was a Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding With Coffee Syrup. Enjoy!

    • Hi Joanne,
I know it is a bit early to put out fall decor but hopefully these ideas just get you ready to start planning what you are going to do. I know they have inspired me. Thanks so much for stopping in and leaving a comment. Enjoy your day!

  • Thank you so much for the feature! Like you, I've been really busy with KA's group. I'm learning a lot but a little overwhelmed with how much I need to do.

    • Paula, ME too! I just need to pace myself. I keep thinking I have got to do this and that and do it before the fall season is in full swing but I just do a little bit every day and hopefully it pay off. Maybe not this year but hopefully by next year :) Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your hoop wreath!
Hang in there...we can do this!
      Karin :)

  • I know everyone's beginning to look towards fall decorating, but we've got 2 more months of summer to get through! Good ideas though to tuck away.

    • Yes I agree it is totally hot outside and will be for a few more weeks but I love gathering fall ideas ahead of time. Pin away until you are ready! :)

  • Thank you so much for the feature! And I'm with such good company! Love all these ladies! Hope you are doing well!

    • HI Julie! I am doing pretty good. Busy as ever trying to follow KariAnne's instructions. I have so much to learn! Thank you for linking up Your 15 minute wreath. It is fabulous! I love quick fast projects that I can whip out when I have a little time :) Great idea!
