Christmas Chalkboard Calendar with lighted garland.
I love creating a fun Christmas feeling in my house using my chalkboards.I have one that I spray painted the frame gold and I have it hanging in our dining room.
For Christmas I hung a lighted green garland around the top edge of the chalkboard to bring in some sparkle.
You can see this entire Christmas tablescape here.
Above the chalkboard closer to the ceiling I hung a tree branch using fishing line and some push pins…
It worked perfectly! Using more fishing line I hung from the tree branch some large glittered snowflakes, some white paper honeycomb balls and one large hot pink pleated fan, all from Walmart!
I still need to get one of my daughters to write something cute on this chalkboard for me.
Chalkboard advent calendar
I saw this idea on @idreamofhomemaking and we tried out the idea on my sisters chalkboard wall in her kitchen and I LOVED how it turned out so much I decided to create one for me on my other big chalkboard in my kitchen nook area.
I basically did the same things… I added a lighted green garland, Hung a branch from the ceiling with fishing line and push pins….
I hung white star type ornaments from the branch and then I had my daughter write the words and numbers for me 🙂
For the mini wreath around the numbers I wrapped some mini leaf garland around a couple of times and added some sticky back Velcro. The sticky back sticks to the chalkboard without damaging the chalkboard #forthewin
Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
I'm new to your site. I love all the beautiful colors. An sad, though. All my grandchildren are grown. They would have LOVED this!
Hi Linda! I bet they would still love it... my daughters and son in laws enjoy it :)
It is just magical to create something so fun and whimsical 😊
