Crepe Paper Flowers and Ruffle Streamer Tutorials
I used crepe paper rolls to make these super easy ruffle streamers…stack three to four strips of crepe paper as long as you want and sew right down the center using the longest stitch possible. Instant ruffles!
To make it more fluffier….After it is sewn fold your strip in half and snip little strips (make sure you don’t cut across the stitch line) fluff it up with your fingers voila your done.
To make these fluffly flowers…follow the same thing as above…only use just one layer and sew down the center to make it gather.
Roll into a flower shape and add little drops of hot glue to secure every so often. Spread out petals to form flower.
Secure last little piece with hot glue.
This flower is sewn but not down the middle…towards one side and sew it on the longest stitch again but this time you will have to pull the threads to gather it tightly. Snip the edges to create petals. Here is a great tutorial from
Simple Joys that shows exactly how to make this flower and lots more beautiful crepe paper flowers!
I used hot glue to secure the flower edges.
Wad up some crepe paper to make a ball and then take a tiny piece and wrap around the entire wad to make it smooth. Hot glue into the center.
And there you have it 🙂

Karins KottageWelcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
