Welcome Autumn with Fall Tablescape

While visiting my daughter we decided to use some of her yellow and red dishes and things from her yard to welcome Autumn with a lovely fall tablescape. We love fall leaves and herbs and decided to use some of those natural elements to create this tablescape.

Welcome Autumn with a fall Tablescape using natural elements

Wrapping her napkins with fresh thyme sprigs created a natural napkin ring. Don’t you love the mustard yellow and deep red combination for fall?

Natural Centerpiece

The centerpiece was made from weeping birch twigs that we found in her yard and placed inside the round glass salad bowl. Layering in with a faux green gourd fresh apples and pears. Green, gold, red and the texture from the faux gourd and twigs really made this feel like autumn.

Welcome guests with fall leaf place cards

Such a fun idea for place cards and bring in more natural elements is to use real leaves. Madeline had made these leaf place cards a few years back and stored them in a book! I love they way she used a calligraphy pen to write our names so pretty on the leaves.

Add sparkle to your fall tablescape

Adding a little sparkle to your welcome autumn with a fall tablescape by using glass goblets and little votive candles. The light flickers off of the glass goblets and leaves a pretty glow for everyone to enjoy.

In this large jar Madeline filled it with dried split peas to add color and texture. An inexpensive vase idea is to use a baby food jar to hold fresh herbs. Small clear votive candle holders were wrapped in leaves and secured with a rubber band.

Bring in large vegetables from your garden to place on the table for that farm to table look.
I just loved how the pretty and rustic the tablescape looks! Especially as the night went on and the candles glowed.

Add Some Flair

A fun thing to do with small children is gather fall leaves and have them paint them with tempura paints. Madeline used a stencil and painted a few leaves blue and it left little triangles on a leaf for an artsy look. We sprinkled more of them on the table and that added a unique flair.

Here I am smelling the delicious thyme bouquet I picked.

How you you going to decorate your Thanksgiving table this year? Below are a few of my other fall tablescapes you might like 🙂

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
