For the last few years I have always made a pumpkin topiary or two for my porch because I love how they looked all stacked up.
This year my hubby made our topiaries…he simply cut off the stems of the bottom two and stacked them..NO glueing for him…they are pretty solid and don’t seem to rock and roll. The urns are plastic ones from Lowes spray painted black….and we stuck a grapevine wreath intertwined with a small leaf garland around the edge of the urn..NO glueing at all.
Here is our porch all ready for fall.
Here are some fun ideas for pumpkin topiaries that I think you will love..These are from Better homes and gardens...I would love to make some of these one day.
I love the ideas of adding a dowel to raise up a small pumpkin
Love the addition of the striped nose and arms and it looks like a tutu
This one wins the prize for me!! Wow there must be some serious dowels connecting all of these pumpkins together. I did try using kabob sticks one year but the pumpkins deteriorated rather quickly so now we don’t poke the pumpkins at all…we just stack-em!

I saw that topiary idea before. So I decided to try. Got my planter, Gorgilla glue but it doesn’t seem to work. These are not real pumpkins I have so how do I attach. How do I cut that stem.

HI Velia,
I haven't tried making one with faux pumpkins... The weight of real pumpkins helps to hold them together. I would think that using faux pumpkins could still work. I would use a small hack saw to cut off the stems. Then use hot glue or gorilla glue to glue them together. The bottom pumpkin needs to be fairly big so as to sit atop of the urn or planter. If it is too small it will sit down too far in the planter. You could put rocks in the planter and then the pumpkin to allow it to sit up higher in the planter or urn. I hope this helps. Thanks for your comment

What a great pumpkin topiary and I really like the wreath on the front door.

Your pumpkin stack looks great. I've never tried it although I have bought the more flat ones that would work. I wondered about poking them because it seems like they would spoil quicker. Glad you mentioned it. Those other ones from BH&G are great!
So much creativity!
I love all the pumpkin pictures and the porch pictures, they are all so ready for the season, I love them all so much.Phyllis
Love it! Pumpkin topiaries are awesome. I just did a post on the ones my hubby and I made.
