Create Stunning Anthro-Inspired Fireplace Mantle Decor

I love taking inspiration from high-end decor and making it my own! When I stumbled across this stunning fireplace mantle decor on Anthroliving’s Instagram feed (check it out here), I knew I had to recreate it in my own style. Here’s how I created a cozy, sparkly, and festive knockoff version using items I already had and a few affordable finds.

Step 1: Start Fresh

To begin, I cleared off my fireplace mantle completely. Starting with a blank slate is the easiest way to reimagine your decor. I also measured all around the sides and top of the fireplace to plan the placement of my garlands.

Step 2: Assemble the Greenery

For the base, I wired together three faux garlands to make a lush, full backdrop. I then wrapped two strings of white lights around the greenery to add a soft glow. Hanging it securely was key, so I used three nails at the top of the fireplace, carefully hammering them between the trim to keep them hidden.

Step 3: Layer the Garlands

To create dimension, I combined two types of garlands—a Norfolk pine faux green one, a thicker faux green garland and a mini pinecone garland from Walmart online! This gave the mantle a fuller look and added some natural texture.

Step 4: Add Lighting with Candles

Battery-operated candles in varying heights were my next addition. Placing them throughout the mantle created a warm, inviting ambiance that’s perfect for the holidays.

To add more height I used small dishes to use as lifts for the candles. Just tuck leaves all around so you can’t see them.

Step 5: Drape Skinny Gold Garlands

The magic happened when I strung five skinny gold garlands across the fireplace. Three of these were battery-operated light-up garlands featuring tiny gold stars or gold balls, while the other two were delicate tinsel strands.

I wired these onto the green garlands to keep them secure. The mix of lights and metallic accents brought everything to life!

Step 6: Final Touches for this stunning fireplace mantle decor

For the finishing touch, I layered a mini pinecone garland and dried hydrangeas from my garden across the mantle to tie in more texture and warmth.

Inspired by Anthroliving

The inspiration for this look came from Anthroliving’s Instagram post. While my version is budget-friendly, it still has that whimsical sparkle that feels so luxe. I might even add a beautiful mirror, like the one in the original design, for extra glamour! But all in all I love how mine turned out.

If you’re looking for a cozy, festive, and affordable way to elevate your mantle, this is it. Let me know if you try it out, and don’t forget to share your photos!

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
