Hosting a Galentine’s party? Create fabulous DIY Galentine’s party decorations that your guests will swoon over! Today, I’m sharing how to create gorgeous oversized bows out of dollar store tablecloths, adorable napkin bows for your place settings, and the cutest Valentine’s banner using leftover ribbons and playing cards. Grab your crafting supplies, and let’s get decorating!
These lightweight, statement-making bows are perfect for jazzing up your party space! Use them on walls, doors, and mantels for a pop of festive flair. We placed them underneath this fun festive balloon arch.
✅ 1 plastic tablecloth (any color!) ✅ Scissors ✅ Tape
Creating a balloon arch is so easy when you use this electric balloon pump and balloon tape.
Tips- Use at least three different colors and purchase balloons in 3 different sizes to get a fun look. You can see all the balloon arches I have made here
To bring in more of the Valentine festive look add a few heart shaped balloons and tape on some little bows.
We also used some leftover lip balloons from a Makeup Party we did for one of our granddaughters last year.
Who knew napkins could be so stinkin’ cute?! These bows add an elegant touch to your table, and they’re a breeze to make.
✅ Paper napkins (red, pink, or patterned!) ✅ Thin ribbon or twist ties, Glue dots, string, or tape (for securing)
2. Starting at the folded edge, fold it over one inch at a time until you reach the end.
3. Tuck the open edges inside the rolled part to hide them.
4. Take one end and angle it toward the middle; repeat with the other side, overlapping slightly.
5. Cinch the center to form a bow and tie with a thin ribbon to secure.
6. Place the bows on stacked paper plates for a totally adorable finishing touch!
This darling Valentine garland banner is the perfect way to add some Galentine’s charm to your party decor! Such a fun upcycle project using an old deck of cards! So let’s get crafty for Valentine’s day or rather Galentine’s day 🙂
✅ Old playing cards (Hearts suit preferred!) ✅ Black twine ✅ Leftover red, white, and black ribbons ✅ Red stuffed hearts (DIY or store-bought) ✅ Hole punch
2. Thread the cards onto a piece of black twine, leaving space between each card.
3. Take 2-3 ribbons per bundle and tie them onto the twine between each card.
4. Finish off the garland by attaching two puffy velvet hearts to each end. I made these mini velvet hearts awhile ago to go on a white fluffy wreath you can see here.
5. Hang your banner above a mantel, doorway, or dessert table for the perfect touch of Valentine’s magic!
For the cutest table setup, we used red and pink paper plates stacked on top of large white paper doilies for a budget-friendly charger. Dollar store plastic stemmed glasses with red and white straws and a pink bow tied around the base made the drink station look so festive!
The black runner was simply black paper on a roll and Emily drew XOXO and hearts with chalk all down the middle.
The wooden candle holder was made by my son in law and we just placed pink, white, red and a couple of black candles in it.
🍞 Grilled cheese sandwiches & tomato soup – the ultimate cozy meal!
🎂 Friends brought cake, candy for a ‘candy salad,’ and other sweet treats.
🥤 A delicious punch made with Fresca + Raspberry lemonade!
Oh don’t forget to add a big pink puffy heart somewhere in your room! It really is a showstopper!
💎 Friendship Bracelet Making – The girls & moms made personalized bracelets as a keepsake.
👕 DIY Sweatshirts – Everyone brought a sweatshirt to customize using iron-on vinyl designs and Emily’s HTVRont Iron Presser. The French-inspired ‘Je t’aime’ sweatshirt with little red cherries was definitely a favorite!
With festive DIY decor, fun projects, delicious food, and fabulous friends, this Galentine’s party was an absolute hit! These simple, budget-friendly ideas will help you create a memorable and stylish event that everyone will love.
