Why High-Rise Cargo Utility Pants are a Must for Women Over 50

This morning, I went for a lovely walk around the lake in my super comfy high-rise cargo utility pants from Old Navy, and I just had to share them with you! These pants are not only practical but are on sale right now for just $19.99. What a steal! They are perfect for us gals over 50 because of elastic waists, loose fitting and just all around comfort!

The Perfect Fit for Comfort and Style

These high-rise cargo pants sit right at the belly button, making them super comfortable and flattering for women over 50. They have a loose fit around the hips and thighs with a tapered leg that hits right at the ankle.

The elastic-drawstring waist ensures they stay in place, while the faux fly gives them a polished look.

The elasticized cuffs with side zippers? Genius! It gives the pants a cool, sporty edge while letting you adjust the fit around your ankle. I love how they remind me of that swooshy windbreaker fabric—perfect for casual outings or a brisk walk.

So Many Pockets In These High-Rise Cargo Utility Pants!

One of the best things about these pants is the number of pockets! Whether you’re out for a walk, running errands, or going on a hike, the pockets are perfect for holding essentials like lip balm, keys, or your phone. No need to carry a bulky bag—everything fits neatly into the front and side pockets.

Perfect for Fall Weather

As the days get cooler, these cargo pants are the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe. They’re lightweight yet provide enough coverage to keep you warm on those crisp fall mornings.

Whether you’re strolling through a farmers’ market, taking a nature hike, or just enjoying time outdoors, these pants have you covered.

Styling Tips

Today, I paired my cargo pants with a simple striped shirt I bought from Old Navy years ago (I’ll link a similar one at the end of this post!). The classic striped top adds a casual, timeless vibe to the look. And for footwear?

My trusty New Balance fresh foam sneakers! I swear by these shoes—they’re like walking on clouds. I even took them with me to Italy, and they kept me comfortable while exploring cobblestone streets. The blue color also goes with just about everything, making them my go-to pair for walking.

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
