Summer Style: Beachy Blue White Accents for Your Home

Summer style: Beachy blue and white accents. This always takes me back to my childhood days in Newport Beach, California. Though we lived a mile or two from the beach, my summers were mostly spent by the pool in our community, surrounded by the charming homes of Harbor View. These homes, built in the late 60s and early 70s, are now being transformed into stunning multi-million dollar residences, often featuring a lot of blue, white, and natural decor. Curating items in these colors brought back so many fond memories, and I’m excited to share some beautiful summer pieces to bring a coastal vibe into your home. Most of these items are from Target, so let’s dive in!

Natural Textural Items

Versatile Natural Basket

This natural basket with leather straps is not only stylish but also on sale for just $9.99! It’s perfect for holding blankets, magazines, extra pillows, or even faux flowers in a pot. Baskets are such versatile decor pieces that add a touch of warmth and texture to any room.

Coastal Sideboard

The woven rattan look on the cupboard doors of this sideboard caught my eye. With its clean lines and total beach look, it’s perfect for a coastal home. Picture a vase, some pretty books, and a lamp on top—maybe even a large seashell for that extra beachy touch.

Woven Placemats

For the table, I chose these pretty woven placemats with a fringed edge. Stack a white dinner plate with a fun beachy salad plate on top, and you have the perfect beach tablescape.

Beachy Blue and white accents Tabletop Items

Beachy Salad Plates

Speaking of beachy salad plates, these blue ones with a seahorse design are delightful! Made of melamine, they’re perfect for outdoor use and won’t break. Pair them with these amazing cut glass blue highball glasses for the perfect coastal touch.

Glass Vase with Blue Hydrangeas

For a centerpiece, why not use this pretty glass vase with blue hydrangeas? I’ve always admired the spectacular color of blue hydrangeas and remember seeing them in abundance along the Oregon coast.

Blue and White Pillows and Rug

Cozy Pillows

Target has some amazing blue and white natural fabric pillows. I particularly love the lumbar oversized pillows. They’d look so cute on my white sofa or chairs. You can never have enough throw pillows, right?

Blue, Green, and White Rug

This rug doesn’t scream beach, but its colors work perfectly for a blue and white scheme. It would look amazing paired with the natural wood and white fabric chair I found.

The natural wood tone and roomy seat make it a great addition to any coastal-inspired room.

Greenery and Final Touches

Faux Ficus Tree

Of course, greenery is essential in any room. A faux ficus tree is a great option if you’re like me and aren’t sure about growing a real one. Growing up, my mom always had ficus trees both inside and outside our Newport Beach home.

Beachy blue and white Tote

Let’s not forget about actually going to the beach, lake, or pool. This blue and white tote from LL Bean is perfect for carrying all your snacks, water toys, and other fun things. The zip top ensures nothing will fall out, making it a practical and stylish choice.

I hope you enjoyed my curated items to create a beautiful coastal vibe in your home. Whether you live by the beach or just want to bring that feeling into your space, these pieces are sure to add a touch of summer charm. Happy decorating!

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
