Capturing Coastal Charm: How to Create a Blue and White Outdoor Tablescape
Today, I’m thrilled to share one of my absolute favorite outdoor table settings with you. Let’s explore the serene world of blue and white, accented with hints of sea-inspired greens and delicate lace details. Let’s begin this picturesque journey together!
Picture this: a sun-kissed afternoon, a gentle breeze whispering through the air. A table adorned with the soothing hues of the sea. To set the stage, I’ve laid down my cherished sea shell tablecloth in shades of blues, greens, and whites. It sets the perfect foundation for our coastal-inspired tablescape.
For a touch of elegance, I’ve opted for white string lace placemats.
These placemats allow the vibrant colors of the tablecloth to shine through.
At each place setting, classic white dinner plates play host to delicate light blue salad plates. I have had these plates for years and I love the intricate detailing along the edges.
To create the layered look, stack the dinner plate, salad plate, and finish with a linen-like blue napkin cinched using stunning beaded jellyfish napkin rings.
As I set the table, memories of my dear mom flood my mind. The blue goblets, glimmering in the sunlight, were treasures that my mom discovered years ago at a humble yard sale in New Jersey. In addition to adding a touch of sparkle to the table, they also serve as a beautiful reminder of her love and warmth
At the heart of the table sits my beloved white pitcher. A versatile piece that has graced many a tablescape over the years.
You may remember a couple of other tablescapes where I adorned the pitcher with simple ribbon. Like this Halloween tablescape or this 4th of July table setting. For this blue and white tablescape it now holds a delightful arrangement of faux white hydrangeas and blue peonies. These lifelike blooms ensure that our centerpiece retains its beauty, even under a warm sun.
As my family gather around the table, they’re not just met with a lovely sight. They’re also welcomed by the warmth and hospitality shining from every detail. The crisp combination of blues, greens, and whites creates an ambiance to linger a little longer. Plus it encourages guests to enjoy the culinary delights to come.
Creating a blue and white outdoor tablescape is not just about arranging plates and flowers.
It’s about creating a special feeling that makes you and your guests feel relaxed and happy. Use calming colors like those of the sea, add memories to your table, and let everything show love, beauty, and being together.
