Karins Kottage Linky Party

Karins Kottage Linky Party- last of September

Welcome to Karins Kottage Linky Party- Last of September. I know you hear it all over the blog world but where did summer go? I swear I was just at the lake celebrating the 4th of July! Life is moving at such a rapid pace and I want it to slow down just a bit. Anyone else feel the same way?

Of course I absolutely love this time of year too. The fall leaves changing, the cooler temps all the yummy fall food and traditions. I want to enjoy each season just a little bit longer and really take in the sights and smells of what each season brings. Traveling to Italy during the first part of September has made the fall season come very quickly. So here’s to fall and I am embracing it with everything I have 🙂

Life as a Leo wife is sharing these fun DIY Crystal balls for Halloween. Love her creativity on a dime!

These mini pumpkin Oreo cheesecakes just look divine from Crystal and Co.

You know how much I love a fall tablescape and this country French Autumn tablescape from My Hubbard home nails it!

I am thinking of making a new fall wreath this year and I love this DIY fall hydrangea wreath in 15 minutes from My Wee Abode!

Karins Kottage Happenings

Last week I was cooking up a storm with all my tomatoes and pears from our garden. I made this yummy tomato bisque soup one night and everyone raved over it. The yellow color comes from my heirloom yellow tomatoes.

I will be posting the recipe soon.

This tomato ricotta tart is simple to die for delicious. I used my huge heirloom tomatoes to make this one. These tomatoes are so big and juicy! Remember when I made it the first time here? It is a keeper!

The favorite thing I made and according to all the men in our family was this vegetable torte. Filled with zucchini, tomatoes, onions, cheese and fresh herbs. Click here for the recipe.

Then I made my favorite Panzanella salad! It is so fresh and delicious with cucumbers, peppers, red onion and homemade toasted french bread croutons. Here is the recipe.

I had tons of pears from our pear tree and made this incredible pear crostata! It is so good with ice cream on top! Here is the the apple Crostata recipe so just switch out the apples for pears.

If you love crust this is your dessert!

On Friday my grandson was in a volleyball tournament in Arizona so my daughter and I flew to Phoenix to support him. It was a quick mini girls trip filled with lots of Volleyball. His team did amazing and won most of their games. Even though he is only 12 he is playing on a 14 yr old team. He is amazing as the setter and it is so exciting to watch his games!

They came in second in the finals. He was very happy and enjoyed every minute of it.

Madeline and I slipped away for a little shopping and found a gelato shop called Frost. Apparently we are getting this ice cream shop in Salt Lake soon.

Ok enough about me! Link on up to the party and show me all your fun fall recipes, decor, crafts and ideas!

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
