Denim Trimmed Cake plate to make yourself!

DENIM TRIMMED CAKE PLATE THAT YOU CAN MAKE YOURSELF!
Don’t you just love creating something unique on the cheap? I love how this Denim trimmed Cake plate looks with all the belt loops and button closure showing.
You can make one for yourself!

How To

Depending on the size of cake plate and/or the size of the waist band you might have to temporarily glue it on or it might just fit perfectly and button right up.
(I used a dab of hot glue to hold it on and the glue pops right off when I am done)
Just simply cut off the waistband of some old jeans and test it out on different edges of cake stands or bowls you might have.
This waistband was a little small but when I added the glue the edges met together and looks awesome!

Centerpiece Idea

I placed a pie tin that has wires attached to it on top of my red Christmas Cake plate..yessiree! It covered up the Christmas tree that is printed on the cake plate perfectly. Then I added red and white little striped bowls filled with berries.

The Tablescape

Red was my go to color for this tablescape. Starting with a red, white and tan striped fabric, White dinner  plates layered with tan salad plates. Denim silverware holders that you can make from pockets of old jeans.

You can see in the background my white pitcher, I hot glued red ribbon in rows around the diameter of the pitcher for fun new look. I added mini silver candle holders filled with mini blueberry muffins.

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
