Bears on the Beach Pudding Cups with Mini Paper Umbrellas

BEARS ON THE BEACH PUDDING CUPS

The other day I was putting together a cub scout idea for the boys to pass off one of their cooking achievements and saw something similar to this on the internet and knew the boys would love making these!
We have all heard of Dirt cups..this is just a new twist on that idea. The ingredients are pictured below
Vanilla pudding (add blue food coloring to it)
Nilla Wafers
Cool Whip
Air Heads extreme striped candy
Chocolate Teddy Grahams
Life savers or mints
Follow directions for pudding on the box except add in blue food coloring. One cub scout got a little crazy with the food coloring and dropped a ton of drops into the dried pudding mix…it made it kind of runny LOL
Once the pudding is mixed put in the fridge to thicken up a bit
Spoon pudding into small clear cups to represent the ocean water and then dollop the cool whip on top and spread around smoothly to represent the waves crashing
Then I gave each boy a ziplock bag of Nilla wafers to crush (they loved that part) sprinkle the crushed cookies onto the waves to make the sandy beach, Roll out the beach towel by cutting the air head candy in half to fit into the cups
Place one “super tan” bear on the “towel: and a couple of others standing around on the beach, add a cute beach umbrella
I am a contributor now on the Lou Lou Girls!!
(my tutorial for making paper umbrellas is on the
and for the finishing touch add a “round life preserver” in the form of a  lifesaver mint or I used regular red and white mints
They really got into creating their little beach scenes and really enjoyed eating them too!
Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
