Tablescapes

Springtime Pink and Green Tablescape

I am in need of spring..so I whipped together this tablescape last night for dinner.
This Springtime Pink and Green Tablescape just makes me feel happy. I’ve had these white paper flowers hanging from my chandelier since Christmas…remember my sugar plum fairy tablescape? Yeah I’ve been lazy.

These photos don’t show how green the goblets are but they are a nice pretty green. I used some colorful napkins set on the diagonal to create a runner and added in the raspberry placemats.
These tall candles going down the middle are just the cheap ones from the dollar store mixed with tall silver candlesticks and 4 shorter silver votive candle holders.
I love mixing the raspberry color with different colors of green in my blue dining room…it really felt like spring.
Dinner was deeelish too! I took a package of pork loin from Walmart….the kind that comes two in a package and I seasoned each one differenty. One had Italian seasonings, olive oil and fresh squeezed lime juice rubbed all over it and the other one I basted it with chipolte sauce and grilled them both! Oh my…mouth watering goodness! Here are two other pork recipes that I love. I also grilled some sliced zucchini and then I roasted red potatoes and yams in the oven.
For dessert I made two apple crostada’s topped with ice cream..here is the recipe for that.
I forgot to take pictures of the food…I was too hungry! 🙂
Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
