As you may have noticed I have been MIA….
We have decided to put our house on the market and move closer to family out west!
We have been busy cleaning, painting, caulking, decorating getting the house all ready to sell.
I am really going to miss this house and the great memories we have had here.
All the cooking and entertaining I have done here in this amazing kitchen.
I just love the red wallpaper..(it was here before we moved in)
I have loved having breakfast, lunch and dinner here in our breakfast nook!
This dining room has held many people enjoying a good meal.
We just finished updating our master bathroom! I love love love how it all turned out!
Ahhh but this backyard has been a paradise! I will miss this sooo much!
If it weren’t so dang hot right now I would be out there enjoying a cool dip!
But it is more like bathwater right now.
I will keep you all updated as we go along in this process.
Karins KottageWelcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!

I have always loved the tablescapes that you have put together in that backyard and was envious of how you had so much green so much of the year when we in Utah seemed to be in snow for so many months. Yet, I understand being close to famioy is nice. We are about 1.5 hours and I am glad we are not farther. Good luck in your move and I wish for a speedy sale of your house; it's beautiful and I am sure the Texas market isn't so bad! Joni
Holy cow girl...you can not only decorate tablescapes...your home is amazing! I love all the details! Looks like you and I share the same granite, cabinets and stainless steel in the kitchen. I have lots of red accents and have contemplated painting it red for awhile now. Out west is a good thing though! Since I live in the absolute west (San Diego). Where abouts will you be moving to? I am in the hospital tomorrow for surgery number 4 from breast cancer. Say a prayer for me! XO Heidi Outre Beauty Bistro

Your home is such a beautiful one to leave behind and the memories I'm sure don't make it much easier. On the other hand, it will be an exciting venture for you and for all of us who read your new posts on your new home decorating.
