Since Christmas I have not decorated my sideboard in my dinning room. Yep…. all my glass domes are just sitting there empty! How sad is that? I just could not come up with something I would like that would last through spring….Sooooo I was so excited to see these fun ideas on Williams Sonoma website showing spring decorating ideas using Nests and Glass domes!
I love the simplicity of these domes set over these beautiful birds nests with green moss and feathers for a fun springtime look.
I love these glass containers filled with colorful Easter eggs and fern leaves. Are these little nests filled with chocolate truffles the cutest things you have ever seen!
This looks like a combination nest/wreath with all the dried flowers on it. The blue egged chocolate truffles are just too precious!
Are any of you using nests in your spring time decorating?
Karins Kottage
Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
Just beautiful! I am featuring you on my blog today. Thanks for sharing! ~Liz

Hi, Karin! I have been slow to get my cloches or domes filled, too, since Christmas. It's been hard to get into the decorating spirit! I've been thinking of going that natural route, too. Thanks for the inspiration!

I absolutely love the look of birds nests and eggs for spring. In fact, I picked up a few things at Hallmark today. Our Hallmark is one of the best I've ever seen and always has lots and lots of gorgeous goodies to look at.
I also found a birds nest at the goodwill last week for .75 cents...SCORE!
Very pretty!
Hi Karin..thanks for the comment on my blog..i'm going to get ready to post about the slumber parties. My domes are sitting pretty empty at the moment. I really like the first ones with moss and the nests. they had some nest very similiar at TJ Maxx, I saw this week. I have the last nest in the picture with the truffles I love it and I put it under my cake dome, its' one of my favorite decorating pieces. I'm off to browse some more of you fabulous blog.
