Wouldnât it be a dream to live by the beach? Well I canât so I am just going to pretend I do by creating a beachy tablescape.
Centerpiece
For my Beachy Tablescape Summer party Idea I came up with this Centerpiece idea.
I chose to use my Ikea lantern filled with shells and a tall white candle surrounded by two other glass apothecary jars filled with sea shells and gold silverware.
Tablecloth
The gorgeous satiny fabric that is flowing all down the center of the table is actually a $5.00 bolt of fabric from Wal-Mart! Yes indeedy cheap it the only way to go! It looks so romantic and kind of sexy donât you think?
The little details
I love how all the gold forks just shine sitting in the tall glass apothecary jar filled with sea shells. The Little Mermaid herself would love to sit down at this table.
My incredible chandelier was purchased at a consignment shop here in Salt Lake and it just adds that sparkle to the room. My hubby installed a dimmer switch so we can light it up or turn it down low for a more romantic feel.
Dishes
I found these clear slightly green salad plates for only .99 each! They were on clearance at a store called Tai Pan. Are they not perfect or what?! Layering the plates make it look luxurious.
Footed dishes or bowls elevate food to make it stand up and out. This trifle wish filled with seashells and chocolates will make your guests drool!
These turquoise blue salad plates are from Tai Pan as well but they donât sell them anymore. I wish I could find dinner plates in the pattern and color! Notice the sea horse chocolates sitting in its own shellâŚthey make such a nice gift for your guests.
More of these delectable chocolates sitting ready for me to eat!
Actually I have already eaten a few ha ha!
Mixing gold and silver
You will notice I used silver charges, silver candle sticks, mixed with âKing Tritonâsâ gold forks, spoons and knifes but it all works beautifully. I love my white napkin rings and I wish I had more to sell but they are no longer making them đ
My daughter came up with the idea of putting all the gold forks in the jar. I leave this on my buffet most of the time..it is so fun. By the wayâŚ.those gold forks are from Big Lots..ha ha years ago!
Now If I could just have this all set up in a beach house overlooking the ocean it would be perfect wouldnât it?
DreamingâŚ..

Karins Kottage
Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
That chandelier is quite the find! It's perfect with all the gold in your tablescape too. Pinning!
This is beautiful Karen, I love the gold satin fabric and the way you scrunched it up...it looks beautiful with the sea shells and aqua plates! Beachy perfection!
Thank you Jenna! I think the satin fabric just makes the tablescape too! It is so fun to come up with new ideas isn't it!
Karin
Gorgeous beach table setting. Yum, those candy seahorses are the perfect treat!

I think this could be my favorite Tablescape I have ever done! I just love the look and feel!

I love this idea! I grew up on the east coast and now live in Texas so i miss the beach so much! Will plan to do this in the summer! Pinned!
Amy,
Thank you so much! I really loved putting this together. I used to live in So. Cal and I too miss the beach...so if you can't be there at least we can pretend... right? :)
Another great tablescape, and perfect for my "coastal" style. Will have to add some of your cool tablescape pics to our "dining by the sea" pinterest board!
Wow thank you Caron! I just love the beach look and love to experiment with my tablescapes. I like the spelling of your name too! Karin
