Tablescapes

Elegant Rustic Tablescape using denim and touch of gold

Elegant Rustic tablescape using denim and a touch of gold.

To begin this tablescape I used a brown and cream linen striped napkins.

White dinner plates are my go to plates because food always looks amazing against white.

To add a little sparkle gold bubble glass goblets.

Denim pocket silverware holders bring in the rustic look to create this unique tablescape.

These grapevine wreaths are from the dollar store and I decided to use them as chargers under my white dinner plates. Thinking outside the box is always a fun way to create a tablescape.

I decided to use my sliver votive candle holder as petite flower vases at each place setting.

Layering plates

Layering two different salad plates on top of the white dinner plates bring in texture and color.

One of the salad plates is turquoise blue plate with a little detail all around the edge.

The other salad plate is a nice tan colored salad plate.

Napkins and Rustic Denim Silverware holders

I used my cute denim silverware pockets with a napkin folded into thirds and pulled tight in the center to make a bow.

Adding a pip berry napkin ring brings in more texture and color.

I didn’t have enough of the tan and cream striped napkins so I used some of these brown floral napkins for a fun look!

You don’t have to be matchy matchy to create a great tablescape.

I had a little bit of raffia laying around and decided to use it in a unique way.

Wrapping some around the top of each place setting brings in a little bit of a rustic and yet airy feeling.

The colors in this floral napkin tied everything together…brown, turquoise, rose, navy and tan.

The little denim pocket holders underneath the napkin holds the flatware

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
