Rogers Gardens- Newport Beach California

A couple of weeks ago my hubby and I went to Newport Beach for a quick business trip and it was gorgeous…as usual 🙂 As a child we moved there from New Jersey back in January of 1970…it was a really cute beach town. I remember when Rogers Gardens came into town…there flowers have always been spectacular! I love what they create…so while we were there we popped in and I took a few pics for inspiration.

Here is just a little sampling of their hanging baskets…yeah it’s always flower growing season in Cali.

Inside there are so many beautiful rooms filled with my kinda eye candy…these were adorable.

Lanterns of every size and shape were plentiful…would it be weird if I put some in every room of my house? I love lanterns!

They were in the process of clearing out all their Christmas and bringing in beautiful spring items that I drooled over. These real hydrangeas were seriously glowing..calling out my name…”Karin, take us home to snowy Utah” it’s a good thing I was flying home otherwise I would snatched up everything!
More darling lanterns and cute red baskets

Outside there was a plethora of garden plants and flowers to choose from.

All I could think about was….do we have to go back home to all the snow????

This lemon tree was so fragrant and I just loved the shape of it..do you think my fellow passengers on the plane would’ve minded if I had brought this baby home?

If you are ever in Newport Beach…stop by Rogers Gardens and see all their magnificent gardens and gift items…it will amaze you.

I can’t wait for spring!!

Karins Kottage

Welcome to Karins Kottage! There is always something fun going on! You would think after becoming an empty nester couple that our nest would be very quiet and empty but our Kottage nest is usually more full than what we started out with! You might find me hosting a birthday party or graduation party and a baby shower on the same weekend or a big outdoor get together with 25 of our friends and family in the backyard or maybe I might be in the kitchen trying out a new recipe for my hubby and I to grill on the BBQ for a quiet night for the two of us. I am passionate about entertaining and setting a beautiful table! I may or may not have an addiction to cloth napkins and fun salad plates oh and goblets too! I think I will always have a home decorating DIY project in the works as long as my hubby is on board with me haha. We have painted A LOT in the 6 homes we have owned in the 35 years that we have been married as well as re-done multiple pieces of furniture, added wall and ceiling treatments, replaced lights, bathroom fixtures and even tiled floors! I have sewn what seems like a million window treatments for our home as well as for family, made slipcovers, and duvets and even a formal dress or two!
