Wild Kratts Birthday cake tutorial
Do you remember my grandson’s Wild Kratt’s Jungle Birthday extravaganza?
It was a fabulous birthday party filled with all kinds of amazing DIY decorations, games and a super cool looking Tortuga cake!
My daughter Emily baked the main part of the cake in an oven safe domed bowl. We wanted it to take on the shape of a turtle. Then for the legs and head, she made some cupcakes. After they are baked, simply remove the paper liners and frost with green tinted frosting.
Emily made a basic buttercream frosting and tinted part of it light green and the other dark green. The light green was used as the main background color of the turtle. Emily piped the dark green for the definitions of the turtle shell. It really turned adorable!
Calvin was one happy “Wild Kratt” 🙂
We took so many pictures of this birthday party I think I need to make a fun jungle theme photo book on Shutterfly with all these pics so he can remember this special birthday for years to come!
