How To Set Happy St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape

Today I’m going to show you how I created my festive St. Patrick’s Day tablescape using a beautiful green and gold color scheme. I started with a mix of green and white plaid napkins, but since I only have four, I paired them with simple white ones to keep the look cohesive. For a unique touch, I’m using green and purple candle rings as napkin holders. Gold chargers provide a stunning base for classic white dinner plates, while green goblets add a vibrant pop of color. To tie it all together, I created a simple yet elegant centerpiece with glass candle holders and tall white candles. Keep reading to see how it all comes together!

How to Begin Setting the Table for a Festive St. Patrick’s Day

To start setting the table, I begin with gold chargers to add a touch of glamour and sparkle. The warm gold tones look beautiful against the wood table and create a stunning base. Next, I layer my everyday white dinner plates on top of the chargers for a clean and classic look.

St. Patrick’s Day Goblets

Now it’s time to bring in the St. Patrick’s Day charm! I place my green stemmed goblets at each setting—they add such a pretty pop of color and tie in perfectly with the theme. Silverware is next, keeping everything polished and elegant.

St. Patrick’s Day Napkins

For the napkins, I use my green and white plaid ones, pulling them up from the center and cinching them with candle rings that double as napkin holders. I used them on another St. Patrick’s day tablescape inside little copper pots here.

To add a fun leprechaun-inspired touch, I place a gold foil chocolate coin on each napkin—because who doesn’t love a little extra luck at the table?

Simple Centerpiece Idea

I bought these large glass jars from Ikea years ago and I love using them on my tablescapes. You can see how I used them here on my outdoor garden dinner party for 20 here.

To bring in a fun touch I simply added a candle ring to the top of each tall white candle. Just by doing that made these simple candles look elegant.

Green and White St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape

I love the simplicity of this tablescape. Sometimes you just need a few things to create a pretty festive St. Patrick’s day tablescape. Just by using green, white and a touch of gold made a magical tablescape for the whole family to enjoy.

The napkin rings are actually candle rings that I have had for years. You might remember how I used them in this Easter Buffet table.

Family at the table

I originally set the table for 11 but had one more show up for a total of 12 🙂

I am so grateful to my sweet hubby and son in law for their amazing work on enlarging this table. You can see the planked table top tutorial here.

For the dinner I served traditional corned beef and cabbage with carrots, spinach quiche, green fruit kabobs and a spinach salad.

My daughter made Irish soda bread. Dessert was mint chocolate chip ice cream pie with an Oreo crust.
