Easy Small Wedding Reception Idea

I recently put together a little wedding reception for some friends in our backyard. It turned out really nice. After having done large weddings for my daughters…I think an easy small wedding reception idea might be the way to go. A lot less stress, money and time for sure!

Easy Simple Wedding Cake

I purchased the cake from our grocers bakery and added some fresh flowers to the top as well as a wreath of fresh mint from my garden all around the edge of the cake.

Tip: make sure you don’t use poisonus flowers like Hydrangeas…ask me how I know 🙁 Yes this is cake #2

Lemonade For Easy Small Wedding Reception

I made lemonade using Country Time powedered mix. Tip- Add some fresh lemon slices and fresh raspberries to make it look pretty. Easy Small Wedding Reception Flowers-

I bought 2 bouquets of flowers from Costco and seperated them into 3 different bouqets two for the table and 1 for side table Plus I used some for the cake…more bang for the buck! Tip: Always incorporate some fresh fruit on the table and place the fruit in a pretty bowl.

Chalkboard Love

I have a large chalkboard in my kitchen nook and had my daughter write in a pretty font….Love is Sweet. I used this chalkboard at Christmas time by turning it into a calendar here. Then again I used the chalkboard at my daughters peach and navy blue wedding reception where we served a hot dog bar! It was so fun and the chalkboards had the menu on them.
