How to Make a Snowman Punch Bowl
I saw this idea in one of my old Matthew Mead magazines and instantly fell in love. It’s creative, adorable, and the perfect centerpiece for a winter party. Here’s exactly how to make a snowman punch bowl step by step.

What You Need to Make a Snowman Punch Bowl
- Brand-new fishbowl (or clear glass bowl)
- Semi-sweet chocolate (for eyes + mouth)
- White chocolate (for the nose)
- Orange gel food coloring
- Mini marshmallows
- Tray or platter (for the base)
- Clean glass bottles (root beer bottles work great!)
- Powdered donut holes
- Straws
- Mini chocolate chips
- Jelly beans (for noses)
- Orange trim or ribbon (for scarves)
- Cold drink (we used eggnog)
Step 1: Create the Snowman Face on the Bowl
Melt semi-sweet chocolate and use your finger (or the back of a spoon) to make circles for the eyes and dots for the mouth directly on the outside of the fishbowl. Let the chocolate set. You can see how we created an Olaf snowman punchbowl face here.
Step 2: Make the Orange Nose
Melt white chocolate and tint it with orange gel food coloring. Shape the nose and place it on the front of the bowl. Let it set completely before moving the bowl.
Step 3: Add a Marshmallow “Snow” Base
Place the bowl on a tray or platter, then pile mini marshmallows all around the base. This makes it look like the snowman is sitting in snow—and it’s such a cute, cozy touch.
Step 4: Make the Mini Snowman Bottles
Use clean glass bottles for your “snowman glasses.”

- Place a powdered donut hole on the top of each bottle
- Slide a straw through the donut hole to hold it in place
- Use mini chocolate chips for the eyes
- Cut a jelly bean in half and use it as the nose
These are adorable and so fun for guests!
Snowman Punch Bowl Tips
Step 5: Add Scarves for the Finishing Touch
Tie orange fluffy trim (or ribbon) around the neck of each bottle to create a scarf. This tiny detail makes them look extra festive.
Step 6: Add a Cold Drink (Best Tip!)
We served eggnog in the snowman punch bowl because it’s cold and keeps the chocolate face from melting. You can also use any chilled holiday punch—just make sure it’s served cold. If you love all things snowball themed make sure you make some of my snowball cookies. I love these cookes way too much!
- Use cold drinks only so the chocolate details stay in place
- Make the bowl face ahead of time so it fully sets
- Use a brand-new bowl if it’s meant for serving food/drinks
- Set it on a tray so the marshmallows stay contained and cute
Final Thoughts
This snowman punch bowl is such a fun way to make your winter party feel extra special. If you make one, I would love to hear about it—leave me a comment and tell me what drink you served in yours!

These are SO cute! My mom is always looking for fun holiday centerpieces, so I should definitely show her this!

Thank you Jenna! I did this way before the Frozen movie came out so you could totally do Olaf’s face on this too! The only thing is don’t use a hot beverage in the bowl or it will melt the face off…haha. Ask me how I know.
Thanks so much for stopping in!
