What You’ll Need:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Scrapbook paper in red, white, and blue
- Ribbon
- Stickers or Cricut cutouts
- Hot glue
- Small toys or jewelry
- Confetti

- Shredded paper

Prize-Filled Poppers:
- Choose Your Base Color: For my first popper, I decided to fill it with little gifts. I chose white food-grade paper for the base. I recommend avoiding waxy finishes as glue doesn’t stick well to them.
- Fill with Surprises: Add small trinkets like a stretchy red bracelet, jibbitz for Crocs, and pop-its. To fit the pop-its inside the roll, take them out of their packaging.
- Decorate the Ends: To give a festive look, fill each end with shredded paper.
Decorating DIY Firework Poppers
Wrap the Roll: Measure out a 4 1/2 inch wide strip of scrapbook paper and hot glue on.
Add Decorations: Wrap a piece of red and white striped scrapbook paper around the center. Hot gluing one end to the roll, wrapping it around, and hot gluing the other end.
For additional flair, I used my Cricut machine to cut out navy blue stars and attached them to the popper. I tried using a glue stick but it didn’t hold to well on my waxy paper. So I hot glued them on and they still wouldn’t stick as I hoped.

Confetti or Mini Marshmallow Poppers
Prepare the Balloon: Tie the end of a balloon and cut a small piece off the top. Stretch the balloon over one end of the toilet paper roll to create the popping mechanism.
Ignore the dinosaur skin….sheesh I need to get some lotion on my hands they are so dry right now!
Wrap the Roll: Cut a piece of navy scrapbook paper 4 1/2 inches wide. Hot glue it around the toilet paper roll, ensuring it covers the balloon section securely.
Decorate: Cut out red and white stars from scrapbook paper. Hot glue them onto the roll to give it a patriotic touch.
Fill with Fun: Carefully fill the roll with confetti or mini marshmallows. For the best popping effect, don’t overfill the roll.
Pop Away: To use, simply pull back on the tied end of the balloon. Release—the confetti or marshmallows will shoot out, providing loads of fun for the kids!
