How to make pastry wrapped asparagus

Fresh asparagus wrapped in puff pastry. These are a delicious side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pkg Pepperidge farm puff pastry thawed
  • 2 bunches Asparagus not too thick or thin
  • 1/4 cup Shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 1 egg

Method
 

Prep the asparagus
  1. Wash and trim the asparagus
Prepare the pastry
  1. Thaw the pastry until it is pliable.
  2. Using a pizza cutter slice the pastry into 1/2" to 1" skinny strips
  3. Starting at the top of each spear begin wrapping one to two spears at a time with the pastry. At the bottom of the spear pinch the dough together and place seam side down on parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
  4. Mix egg with 1 Tbsp water. Brush the egg wash over each asparagus bundle.
  5. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over each bundle
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 15-20 minutes or until golden.
