- Begin by toasting the baguette slices. Drizzle them with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt, then pop them under the broiler until lightly toasted. Keep a close eye on them to prevent any unexpected surprises - we want golden perfection!
- In a hot frying pan with butter or olive oil, sauté thinly sliced onions with a sprinkle of brown sugar until they become beautifully translucent. Add the balsamic vinegar and sauté for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
- Spread about 1 tablespoon of creamy ricotta cheese on each toasted bread slice. Top with 1 tsp or more of fig jam and some sliced onions. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.
