Summer Linen Outfit Over 50 for Hot Summer Days

Both my yellow linen shirt and my linen pants were thrifted finds, which makes this outfit even more fun.

I love finding pieces secondhand that I can mix into my everyday wardrobe. Linen is one of those fabrics I always keep an eye out for because it is timeless, breathable and so easy to wear.

Here is another fun linen tunic blouse that I love to wear in the summer too.

The yellow shirt adds such a happy pop of color, while the neutral linen pants keep everything relaxed and casual.

Nothing matches perfectly, nothing is too precious, and that is exactly why I like it.

This is the kind of outfit I can wear for running errands, meeting a friend for lunch, sightseeing or just enjoying a summer day outside.

Linen in the middle of summer

When the temperatures are hovering around 100 degrees, I am not interested in anything fussy, tight or complicated. I want clothes that are light, breezy and comfortable — but I still want to feel cute when I walk out the door.

This outfit checks all of those boxes.

Can We Talk About These Shoes?

Of course, the real personality in this outfit comes from my shoes!

These fun map-print shoes are from UIN Shoes, and they are definitely not your basic neutral shoe.

The print looks like an old-world map, complete with little landmarks, coastlines and travel details. They are quirky, artsy and just plain fun.

And even better — they are incredibly comfortable.

I love shoes that give an outfit a little personality without requiring me to sacrifice comfort. UIN carries so many different artistic prints and designs, so if maps are not your thing, there are plenty of other colorful and creative options.

They almost feel like wearable artwork.

I also think the travel-inspired print is pretty perfect for someone who always seems to have Italy on her mind!

The Giant Sun Hat Is Not Optional

My oversized sun hat has also become one of my summer essentials.

It is an older favorite from Nordstrom Rack, and with our temperatures over 100 degrees almost every day lately, I have been reaching for it constantly.

The wide brim gives me plenty of shade, and I love the dramatic look of it with such a simple linen outfit.

Sometimes one big accessory is all an outfit needs.

Between the bright yellow shirt, giant hat and funky shoes, this look feels playful without being overdone.

Comfortable Style Over 50

One thing I appreciate more and more is realizing that comfortable clothes do not have to be boring.

I do not want to spend the day tugging at my clothes or wishing I had worn something cooler. I want pieces that move with me, breathe and still make me smile when I catch my reflection.

For me, that is what great everyday style over 50 looks like.

A thrifted linen shirt.

Loose linen pants.

A big sun hat.

And a pair of shoes that make people look twice.

Simple, comfortable and just a little bit unexpected.

And really, isn’t that the fun part of getting dressed?

Would you wear the funky map shoes, or would you choose one of UIN’s other artsy prints instead?
