Karins Kottage Highlights:
This is a significant week for me as I’m heading into my amputation surgery. While I’ve felt fairly calm most days, I’m incredibly thankful for the many prayers sent my way. Today, I’m going for a lymphoscintigraphy, where a radioactive tracer will be injected into my finger to check for any melanoma spread. The test helps track how things are going, and while I’m definitely nervous,
I’m keeping my sense of humor intact. I’m adding “finger-tip ectomy” to my long list of surgeries!
I’ll keep this linky party up for two weeks just in case I need some extra recovery time. Thank you all for your continued support, love, and prayers. I’ll keep you updated as I go through this journey.

Karin, wow, what a shock to receive news of cancer after thinking it was something, nothing at all. I feel pretty certain most of us would have thought as you did before the official diagnosis – a wart, etc. I went back and read the back story. I most definitely will keep you in my prayers for a clean report after the surgery (which you should now be 1 day post). The humor and positive attitude are definite pluses!
Rita, It has been crazy to say the least. Who would’ve thought you could have cancer in your fingernail and that it would be an aggressive melanoma! I still don’t have results from my lymph node biopsy so we are hoping and praying for good news.
