Outdoor Movie night in Your own Backyard!

We hosted a fun outdoor movie night in our backyard for some of the youth from our church and it was such a fun night!

Outdoor movie night in your own backyard

What to serve

I served popcorn, red vine and a mix of other candies and all the ingredients to make smore’s! We have a fire pit with a portable gas fire ring that sits inside of the fire pit. It runs on a propane tank that sits behind the fire pit

Table Set Up

For the treat table I used navy and white striped fabric to cover a folding table. Clear plastic bowls and galvanized serve ware are the perfect things to use outside because they are unbreakable!
The kids really loved all the treats and gobbled them all up!

Movie Screen DIY

To make our simple movie “screen” use a white sheet stapled to two 2X4’s top and bottom. To hang the screen up we used wood screw hooks screwed into the pergola. We have used many times and it works really well, unless it is windy then the screen wiggles a little too much.

To show the movie Nacho Libre we used a lap top connected to a projector. Nacho Libre movie is such a classic and the kids really got a kick out of it.
As the night went on our lights that we hung up onto poles on the grass area glowed in the backyard and everyone got comfy and enjoyed the movie 🙂

    This looks fun!
If the screen wiggles too much, just say it’s in 3D.
I would like to do the outdoor movie on a warm Idaho night, but we couldn’t start it until 10pm. The sun doesn’t go down until then!

Haha I love that 3D 😂 I will tell them that next time for sure! The kids actually thought it was funny when the screen wiggles and distorted the faces 😂
